 Real Heroes
The chapter holds Real Heroes events in Reno, Winnemucca and Elko to honor local heroes, those ordinary citizens who have shown extraordinary courage by responding with bravery during an emergency situation or by exemplifying compassion and generosity toward others. These events are attended by community members, elected officials and media representatives and are always described as uplifting and inspiring. Red Cross Hike to Help
On May 16, 2010, the Northern Nevada Chapter will hold its inaugural Red Cross Hike to Help at Bartley Ranch Regional Park in Reno. Hikers will explore an easy and scenic hike, stopping at rest stations to learn more about wilderness safety, CPR and First Aid and other disaster preparedness techniques. We are hoping to attract more than 200 families and individuals who want to support the Northern Nevada Chapter. Participants will receive a t-shirt, tasty samples and a goodie bag.
 Ride for the Red
The Ride for the Red is our annual motorcycle ride in Reno to raise funds for local disaster relief. We like to change our route each year, but we always see the same friendly faces that have ridden with us since this ride's inception. We love to stop at businesses in the area that support us, and we always offer a cool long-sleeve t-shirt, a tasty lunch and fun raffle prizes for our participants. Radio-A-Thon
The Northeast Nevada Service Center will hold its annual Radio-A-Thon hosted by KRJC on March 4, 2010. Listen in to 95.3FM in Elko, 99.3 FM in Wells, 102.3 FM in Eureka and bid on fantastic auction items, find out what the Red Cross is doing in YOUR community and how you can get involved.  Red Cross Golf Scramble
The Northeast Nevada Service Center will hold its 15th Annual Golf Scramble on May 30, 2010. Play 18 holes on Elko's beautiful course, rated in the top 40 of 1000 golf courses by Golf Magazine, and support YOUR local Red Cross. Mulligan's are available for your team of 4.
